Got Scammed For $2500 But I Have His/his Families Information And Work Information. What Do I Do???

So around 4 months ago I attempted to purchase a used Motorcycle engine for my bike, I met this guy on facebook and he obviously flips these bikes/engines. He has many friends and rep, I facetimed him, talked to him and his son. He looked 100% legit, he has family added on facebook as well. He also showed me the engine on facetime, I sent him $2500 on paypal and he said he would drop it off at fedex to be shipped, he made the label etc. Then he claimed that fedex dropped and broke it and it is now in an insurance limbo to recover the price of the damaged engine. It has been 4 months and he is only making excuses saying he is waiting etc, I have been way too nice and should have done this first. He has not shown any proof of the insurance claims etc.

How do I go about this? Should I tell him I will file a police report?

He is clearly a legit guy and not just someone posing as another person. He is responding to texts but constantly delaying it, I want to put some pressure on him.

He is out of state, we are in different states. I am in colorado he is in texas.

EDIT: I have screen recorded all chats, its very obvious from chats about the details of the deal since it was mostly over imessage.
