House Inspector Lied, Cost Me The Sale What Do I Do?
As title stated selling my home, inspector came listed a bunch of things wrong that wasnt true. Failed the water heat for not working when it worked fine. Said windows didnt have locks when they just wernt closed all the way. And the big kicker... Said the septic field was crushed and 4 strands not working. We dug up the one hole he dug and found a hole where a shovel went through the pipe and it appears he just shoved a bunch of big rocks and dirt into the hole. The rest of the pipe is fine and does not appear crushed at all the only damage we can find is where he broke his shovel through the pipe. Haven't gotten the inspection for the septic field back yet but he says that it was damage dude to someone driving over it, noting pictures of our lawn mower tracks.
Passed all this on to our realtor who is passing it onto his manager. But I just want to know what our options are because it looks like the buyers have completely backed out even though we have sent proof that the inspection was false. So his lies/incompetence has cost us the sale of our home. His "company" is just him so its not like I can report him to his boss. Im planning on contacting the BBB but none of that is going to help the fact that he chased off the only offer we have gotten on our home. What do we do?
