Husband Moved All Finances Before Death…

My Mom’s husband recently passed after a short illness. They had separated but were working through it so obviously my Mom is devastated. Some backstory, my wife and I think he was being financially abusive to her, especially for the last few years. They went 50/50 on things despite him making substantially more and my Mom had very little savings while he just kept building his. So back to present, my Mom looked through his computer and discovered that he had removed her from his deferred comp and moved most of his savings into a CD that she doesn’t know the information on, like whether or not it has a beneficiary.
She’s speaking to a lawyer in two weeks but in the meantime she’s breaking down worried she’s going to lose her house. His sons are well off, about to get all of his money it seems, and I worry they’re about as altruistic as their father. I’m just posting this wondering if anyone knows if her lawyer will be able to help her at all so I can tell her anything during this two weeks of waiting.
