I Live Directly Above A Noisy 7/11 And Haven’t Gotten A Full Nights Rest In Months…

Location: Denver, CO (downtown)

I haven’t had a full nights rest in months because I can guarantee a delivery truck or a transient loitering at the 7/11 directly below me will wake me up after a few hours. I am a pre-law undergrad student and through my law and society class, I recently found out I have the right to “quiet enjoyment” through my lease which is what has finally made me realize I might actually be able to do something about this problem I did not think I had any control over. Here are the facts:

~the 7/11 occupy the same building as the apartment complex, we even share the same trash area which is also where there is a loading dock no one ever uses (unless there is a move in)

~at least 5 nights a week the 7/11 receives a shipment from a delivery truck and it is almost always after quiet hours start or at the crack of dawn

~Tonight the truck arrived at 11:58 pm and left by 12:33 AM. It first honked (this happens often but seems to depend on the driver), began to reverse beeping while reversing, and then idled the entire time it was parked and it is so loud.

~ The 7/11 also has an issue with loitering and doesn’t do anything about it, many of the transients are not sound, and they will often have episodes (yelling/singing/playing the same song early morning)

~ Truly I can hear everything (the people at the bars a block away, the construction site 2 blocks down) through my room windows even though they are alway closed, so I assume the apt hasn’t investing in a good sound proof glass

~ I have had to be prescribed two different sleep/anxiety medications since I lived here and have never had to take those before.

~ I just started logging these noise disruptions yesterday. I (26 F) have never been disruptive myself. Seriously, all I do is go to school and work. When I am home it is only to rest and feed myself, no parties or other disruptive patterns.
