I Live With The Person The State Put An Epo On. What Do We Do?

Card image cap

Location: Indiana. Long story short, I live with my girlfriend and her kids. I don't have any other family or friends. One night she got drunk and was holding a knife to her throat and I had to fight it out of her hands and the neighbors called the cops. She went to jail for domestic violence because I had a small scratch on my neck. We were never fighting and there were witnesses that confirmed that we weren't fighting but the cops charged and arrested her anyway. Now the state automatically put an EPO on her for me. Now we get pulled over a lot in our separate vehicles because they want to catch us together. No actual reason for pulling us over. It's one cop in particular. The police act like I can't live here anymore, but that would make me homeless. I've called the prosecutors office and they told me to call a domestic abuse center to help get the EPO dropped. I call the crisis centers and they tell me to call the prosecutors office to get the EPO dropped. It's just going in circles. She has gone to jail once again for breaking the EPO even though we have no choice. I'm not going to go live under a bridge and I'm tired of this cop that keeps pulling us over and I still haven't found a way to get the EPO dropped. Our lawyer is trying to help but it hasn't helped yet. What should I do?
