I'm Executor But Cannot See The Will.

Location: Kentucky

My father named me executor of his will. He died in December but my stepmother says I am not the executor. She named a friend and said they were executor and later changed it to someone else.

I talked to an attorney but he said I shouldn't do anything or else I'll get disinherited. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get disinherited no matter what.

My stepmother informed me that I'm getting an inheritence a few days ago. She said, "A few thousand dollars", but the markets are bad and I have to wait.

I know that my father gave each of his kids and step chikdren 100k each. So, now I'm getting a fraction of that.

I thought this would sort itself out when they tried to register the will, but now I guess not.

Not sure if I have a move at this point.

At one point a few years before he died they had a falling out and she threatened divorce. He told me that he had changed the will to give her half and his will would give the rest to his kids. I have not read the will so I have no idea if that is true.

Now she has it all.
