I Received A Petition Of Foreclosure In Iowa

Card image cap

Location: Iowa

This is a throw away, because I am so embarrassed. I received a petition for foreclosure and have no idea what to do next. My wages are currently being garnished and as result have ended up in debt and missed quite a few payments. However; in the very near future ( within the next two months) I will be receiving a large sum of money as a payout from my grandmother's estate. She passed away over two years ago and my family was dragging their feet on settling everything, but we are finally going to be resolving everything. I kept putting everything off because I kept thinking the payment was just around the corner. Some of my family members couldn't decide if they wanted to keep the house and rent it out or be bought out. Long story short, I'll be receiving a payout soon. So, very soon I will be able to get up to date with my mortgage, payoff my debt and garnishment but I don't know what I'm supposed to do to prevent the foreclosure from going forward. I went on to the court website, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. The paperwork says to file and answer or motion but I don't know which to do nor do I know what documents I need to attach. Any help would be appreciated.
