I Reported Something I Saw Online, And Now I’m Dealing With Harassment And Threats

About a week or two ago, I came across a girl on TikTok (I’ll call her Hailey ) during a livestream. At first, the stream included some racist remarks that escalated as more people joined.

In the first livestream, one of her friends openly said she didn’t like Black people, and Lauren appeared to agree and laugh along. The next day, Lauren went live again with some of the same people and some new participants, and the situation escalated further.

During that stream, a Black co-host was present. Someone made a comment referencing putting a knee on a Black person’s neck (clearly referencing George Floyd). Lauren appeared to agree with the statement, and her behavior suggested she was participating rather than discouraging it. Throughout the stream, her and others continued making disturbing comments, including jokes directed at the Black co-host. Lauren did not intervene and instead appeared to laugh along.

Near the end of the livestream, the Black co-host was removed, and some participants were saying the N-word. After that, I decided to report what I saw.

Since her information (including name, school, and sorority) was publicly available in her profile, I reported the situation by emailing her sorority and sharing the video. I only described what was shown and did not fabricate quotes.

Afterward, the situation escalated(it was on twitter) Hailey went private, and I began receiving messages from her and people associated with her. Some of these messages included threats, such as claims that they could find my address, references to having connections in law enforcement, and statements implying harm toward me and my family. One message specifically said I “wouldn’t be the only one suffering,” and another included an explicit threat before being deleted.

I ended up getting another message from his friend I told his friend what he said and he said yeah he would kill your family

I just wanna know if something could happen?
