When I (currently 31M) was about 13, I was molested by the nephew of a family friend after she left me alone for the entire night with him. He was about 25 at the time. Unfortunately I remember all the details very clearly to this day. After he molested me and attempted to rape me the first time, he brought out CD cases that were filled with dozens of CDs of Child p***. Some of them were probably as young as 6 years old.

It still bothers me to this day, not necessarily what was done to me, but knowing he almost certainly still has those CDs and has done this to other children is a terrible thought. Lately I've been wondering if I have any legal resources whether it's civil or criminal.

This happened in Illinois and while I still live there, he has moved to Florida. I know his full name and remember the exact house and room this took place. Do I have any legal pathways? I don't really completely understand the statute of limitations in Illinois. I read some places saying there's no limit and others say there is.

Any advice it greatly appreciated
