Landlord Says I Owe 2 Months Rent For Not Giving 60-day Written Notice, But Lease Expires In 2 Weeks And Converts To Month-to-month. Ksa 58-2570 Says 30 Days. Am I Wrong?

I've been in talks with my leasing office since January about my lease renewal. My one-year lease expires April 21, 2026. I expressed interest in renewing into a 2-bedroom but never got rates for one. I never signed a renewal.
In February I let them know over the phone that I'd be moving out and would need until the 30th of April. I was told I'd just need to pay the remaining days. No one mentioned a written notice requirement or gave me a form.
On Aprill 1st, I went in to discuss the move-out. Now suddenly I’m told I owe May AND June rent because I didn’t give 60 days written notice per my lease. The staff member even offered to submit the notice for me but said I’d still owe. The manager was supposed to call me back, never did. I had to chase them down myself a week later.
- They sent me a renewal offer in January but never provided the notice-to-vacate form they’re now saying I was supposed to fill out
- The building has had repeated false fire alarm activations (management sent us text s/emails about them) and WiFi outages that caused me to miss work.
It feels predatory that management never gave me a heads up about the 60-day requirement during months of conversations, never provided the vacate form, but was quick to send over a renewal offer and even quicker to tell me I owe two extra months.
EDIT: Also if this hold any weight when they emailed me In January about a renewal my reply was “yes, but I would like to look at a 2bedroom”. This is when we got on a call. I never intended to stay in that unit bc i knew my girlfriend would be moving in with me.
