Landlord Threatening Us After A Break-in

I live in a rental unit with 2 other college students, we are 21y/o girls. We were the subject of a break-in recently where a stranger broke into our apartment, opened our bedroom doors, masturbated loudly, and made verbal threats to us. He exposed himself to us and made a big mess leaving petroleum jelly packets and scattering stuff everywhere. The cops eventually caught the guy, took crime scene photos and told us they would notify the building management. The judge is holding him for 90 days and on 10k bail after that.

~8 hours after the cops left, the landlord had a tour scheduled, and we impulsively told the tourers what happened and put up a sign on our door saying please dont come in we are cleaning up after we experienced a break-in. The real estate agent told the landlord, who then called us saying we cannot have a paper taped to the door because we cannot have material outside the property, and later sent us an email saying they will fine us if we try to "sabotage" another tour. I told my roommates DO NOT talk to management over the phone or in person and request for email communication only. We responded to the landlord by ccing the detective and saying there is no fine they can legally levy against us for sharing public information on a police report.

We have had communication with management for over a year asking for better security because of stolen packages, a less concerning break in attempt, and used needles. They denied responsibility and told us they are "working on it."

We also have been staying at a friend's spare room in their dorm suite and have realized that the same company who leases our apartment also leases that building to our university. They lease a lot of off-campus apartments to students from my school and I want people to know but I don't know how much I can do. I talked about it a bit to some of the other tenants in our building and they expressed they support us and have also talked to management about security concerns. I just really dont want other girls at my school to pay the high rent prices and experience this disgusting treatment like we did. Thank you so much for the advice.
