Lawyer Client Confidentiality Violation? Hipaa? Help!
So I need some advice about a situation with the adoption agency I used and something that happened with the attorney for that agency. Mind you the attorney did not know me at all, she did not work directly with adopting families or birth mother's. There were "adoption coordinators" who met with the families and birth mother's and actually got to know them. I got into some legal trouble (1st time) and the detective called the agency just fishing for information trying to find my whereabouts a few months after I had my baby. My criminal case had absolutely nothing to do with my adoption case, children, or other people period. The attorney who doesn't even know me said things that I believe she could get in trouble for and I have recordings of it from my deposition. She disclosed information about test results from the hospital from when I had the baby to this detective OVER THE PHONE without a subpoena/warrant whatever. Could have been any body over the phone claiming to be law enforcement. Tell me what can and should be done? Location: marion county, Florida.
