Location: Wildomar, California. If I Purchased A Firearm Online Not On California's Firearm Roster, Am I Going To Need A Lawyer?
Location: Wildomar, California. Wanted to get my mom a handgun for her birthday. Something a little more compact than my glock 17, and most importantly something cheap. So, as one does, I hopped onto gunbroker and had a browse. Eventually, I came across a listing for a hipoint yc380. There was no seller exclusion about California, as there had been on many other listings. So, fool that I am, I ordered the hipoint. But I should never have underestimated the state of California's beuarocratic behavior. I called the ffl dealer to make sure they had received the transfer request and such, and they informed me of the existence of the California firearms roster, as well as the fact that the hipoint yc380 is not on said roster. Now, I have ordered and paid for this firearm, which I have now found out is completely illegal in the state I live in. If the seller does not agree to cancel the order, have I committed a felony? Am I on a watchlist?
