My Dad Found My Address

Card image cap

Location: Illinois and Missouri

I moved out of my parents house back in September or October after an argument. They live in Missouri, I moved in with my partner in Illinois, we are both in our mid 20s. I've gone over to visit with my parents a few times and our relationship has gotten better, but I have pretty consistently refused to give them my current address for fear that they would ignore my privacy like they did many many times while I lived with them. A few days ago, my mother texted me and asked "do you live at" and then our neighbors address. I said no, and a few days later I texted her a long message stating clearly that asking about where I live is not okay and I'll tell her when I'm comfortable doing so. She didn't reply to it. Today, I went to their house for lunch and to collect a few things and my mother asked about it. I refused to talk about it which turned into an argument and eventually my father said "your mom will be angry I say this, but I've known where you live for four months now. I'm a cop, you had to know I would find out." What is the legality of this, and what do I do from a legal standpoint?
