If someone is appointed court appointed guardian of a minor beneficiary that was left life insurance money and they decided to just soend the money within about 5 months would they be able to get away with it? Would there be consequences? ?

When I emailed them cuz I was concerned about her account and my mom stealing the money from it while she had custody of my daughter at the time of my dad passing they replied with:

“Since XXX is a minor, someone would have had to have been court-appointed as her guardian and specifically granted authority to collect money on her behalf for any proceeds to be paid. If the beneficiary is a minor, OFEGLI will pay a court-appointed guardian, if there is one. Parents – biological or adoptive – are not automatically guardians. A court must appoint a guardian and grant to the guardian the authority to collect money on behalf of the child. The guardian then can submit a claim to OFEGLI with proof of the guardianship, and benefits will be paid to the guardian on behalf of the minor. “
