My Disabled Sister Is Stuck In An Abusive Household.

When i was 16 I was put into foster care bc i was being abused by my birth mother and adoptive father. Since then, I've heard stories from my old neighbors, that the abuse has now moved to my older sister who is mentally disabled (microsephaly). I also drove by the house and stopped and talked to her briefly which confirmed it all.

That was the last time I had contact with her (over 1 year ago).

Since then, I have been trying to work with Adult Protective Services and her lawyer, who she hasn't even met with bc our mother won't allow it without the adoptive father present, but it has been an entire year and it feels like nothing is happening!

I'm beyond frustrated and worried for her safety.

Mother has guardianship which adds another layer.

Any advice??

Also, once my sister is out of there, she will have to go to an assisted living place or get some kind of help from a program specifically for adults with special needs bc she can't live completely on her own and I'mnot in a positionto provide thar kind of support, despite her competence in basic housekeeping skills. Any suggestions for my area? Location: South Jordan, UT
