My Ex Told Me They Got A Restraining Order Against Me
I’m located in WA, my ex is in Texas. Location: Washington
Recently, my ex was in possession of a car that I own, in my name. My ex
‘S name is not on the car anywhere.
My ex has been concealing the location of the car from me, hiding it out of state, and refusing my requests to return, or even tell me its location so I can properly insure it, and comply with the terms of my loan.
My ex sought a restraining order, I’m not sure on what grounds as I have not said or done anything even mildly aggressive, rude, etc.
they did allege that I damaged their property and stole a gun from them. I have not seen them in over 7 months. These claims are baseless and cannot be proven.
Recently, I was able to find the location of the car and I had a tow pick it up. My ex of course called me. I explained where the car was located and how they could retrieve their possessions inside.
They then told me they had gotten a restraining order against me. I immediately hung up the phone.
They have been literally blowing up my phone and texting now.
I need to know if there is an order against me, this could affect my professional license as I am a mental health professional licensed by the state.
It’s not very bright of me but I do want to take her calls and try to ease some of her worries.
My question is, how do I find if this order exists? Or even in what jurisdiction? I have tried to search my state court website, the only thing that comes up is our divorce.
I actually thought to get an order against her a few months ago due to her escalating behavior and baseless threats, and accusations, but I felt bad.
Any insight would be very appreciated.
