My Father's Wife's Children Are Trying To Cut Me Out Of The Will

Card image cap

Location: Missouri My biological father passed away in Texas, and I live in Missouri. I was adopted as an infant but we stayed in touch the last 20+ years. This year he passed away in Texas and his will said I am to receive X% of net proceeds if the house is sold after they both pass away. This happened this year and I just found out. His spouse passed away a few months after he did. The two adult children of his spouse are the executors. A few months ago I asked about it and he said my father's will went 100% went to his wife. He then said they made a more detailed will for their mother and everyone mentioned in it has been notified. I was just curious last night and found this all online from the county. Today I asked him and he said the house went to the estate 100% (his wife) and her will is none of my business. Should I get a lawyer or is it possible they aren't trying to screw me over? The amount I would receive is less than $100k but I'm upset they didn't mention I was in the will - even if they are going to claim the sale of the house was to pay off debts or something. The executor saidI must be confused because he left 100% of the property to his wife.
