My Mortgage Company Sent Sensitive Information To My Employer Without My Consent.
Location: Florida.
I bought a house 3 months ago.
My mortgage was sold immediately.
Today my employer’s corporate office called me to let me know they received some of my closing documents from the company who bought my mortgage.
The information was stuff like, my name, email, home address, a photo copy of a canceled check from closing on the house, information from my 401k (I used that as proof of funds during closing.) And a few other docs.
My employer’s corporate office called me to let me know because this is “highly unusual” and he said he would want to know if his information was being sent around like that without his knowledge.
My employer is sending me a copy of all of the information they received and a copy of the envelope it came in… but, what can I do about this.
It is extremely concerning and I am now paranoid they send my private information to other people as well.
I already called the company and they are “looking into it”.
