Neighbor Says It’s My Job To Keep People From Turning Around On Her Property

Location: Upstate NY

My neighbor and I share a driveway. I own it and she has access to her garage through an easement. I own beyond her garage to mine, which I’ll refer to as the “top part.

She gets mad if anyone visiting the top part of the driveway backs in towards her garage to exit the driveway.

I try to remind any visitors to not back towards her garage, but if it’s someone I don’t expect I may forget. Then I get a nasty text from her telling me : IT IS YOUR JOB TO TELL PEOPLE TO KEEP OFF MY PROPERTY KNOWING I DO NOT WANT ANYONE ON MY PROPERTY.

My response was: It’s really not. It’s not my job to direct traffic on your property. Put up cones if you don’t want someone backing there.

Now she said she’s taking legal action. Does she have any case? I don’t think so because I’m not instructing people to go on her property and there are no damages.

UPDATE: I failed to mention this obsession of hers is new. She’s had no problem with me or anyone else backing towards her garage until mid January. Also adding links of pics that help explain the driveway. The pics are old but you get the idea. She sent me these when she had a survey done.
