Not At Fault Crash With Uninsured Motorist

So, my years been pretty bad. Got rocked by my partner newyears and got a concussion and was strangled unconscious, ended up stopping working while trying to recover especially psychologically. Then was ejected from a vehicle start of February onto asphalt during a physical altercation with someone else and got another concussion that left me bedridden for a week. Made it even harder to go back to work and I still have spots I'm healing today. Started going to therapy covered by a grant for my domestic and trying to heal from everything happening, and while on the way to the therapy office day 3, a driver didn't stop for a red light on the highway struck the back of a pickup that was shoved into my car, which slid and slammed into the car in front of me as well. I was thrown forward, hit the steering wheel, my glasses and hat flew off and when I hit the vehicle in front of me my neck snapped backwards and I hit the seat and then blacked out at the scene within a minute. I was transported to a regional trauma center with yet another concussion and was not alert or aware for a few hours before coming too and starting to realize what had happened while in the CT room.

My vehicle sustained about 7k in damages, and medically I racked up a 7k+. I do not have medical insurance as I was self employed prior. Been living with my best friend who's been paying my bills since. My vehicle insurance isn't cheap in my location, so I have state minimum liability without UIM or Medpay. The driver who caused the accident had no registration and cancelled their insurance 4-6 days before the crash and had no insurance whatsoever. As such I have no insurance to claim with and am stuck with serious expenses. Since slowly recovering I began repairs on my vehicle myself and have almost returned it to perfect condition, my health is slowly improving with some symptoms of PCS but I'll live.

I'm unsure what to do though, I shouldn't be stuck with these medical bills and I also shouldn't be eating all the costs for these repairs. I'm broke enough as it is and I didn't do anything wrong that day but exist. I'm aware this doesn't look great for the driver having any assets or such to get judgement against but nevertheless I don't want to throw my hands up and just let her have no responsibility for what happened to me. I'm trying to determine if it's worth personally using the driver even if I have to be my own legal representation as broke as I am, I simply don't want to let this all go as a loss for myself. Any advice is appreciated I'm really stressed out and just feel wronged in every possible way
