Odometer Fraud/rollback - With Evidence
I purchased a 2015 diesel truck, advertised with 61k miles from the original owner. When I asked if there were any accidents on the carfax before I ran one, he said "I ran a carfax before listing it so I could send it to serious buyers." Everything on the carfax checked out. I flew out, it was very clean, bought it. After a few months, I noticed that the engine hours were a bit high, so I ran my own carfax to find out the last reported mileage before me registering it with 61k was 320k+, only a few weeks before I purchased it. Curious as to what I can do in this situation. I have contacted the state DMV fraud department, they say they can do nothing. Contacted police, they say they can do nothing. Contacted multiple attorneys, most say "You definitely have a solid case, I just don't handle those kinds." I have screenshots with the seller and a copy of the carfax that he gave me. Any advice appreciated!
