Odometer Recorded Wrong And Warranty Dispute

Bought a used Subaru wrx from a well known dealership in Indiana, in May of 2026. This was advertised as a certified pre owned vehicle and we were assured everything on the vehicle had been inspected before we purchased, including the clutch. A little over 30 days and less than 1000 miles it needed a new clutch, flywheel, and throw out bearing. This repair cost $3,000 dollars. The repair was denied by ford warranty as those components are "wear items" and not warrantied. We then went to the dealership and requested all of the paperwork from the purchase transaction. The clutch was not listed as an item they checked during the certification process. Also, the warranty states all wear items on not warranted, if replaced during the certification process, which again the clutch was not listed as and item check or serviced.

In addition, we started going through all the paperwork and we noticed the odometer recordings were different on the different documents of the transaction. The odometer recorded on the purchase agreement was the same reading as listed on the car fax from when dealership orginally purchased the car back in March of 2026 and was at least 400 miles less from what we actually purchased it at. The car was certified in March and not checked again prior to our purchase, in May. Several hundred miles had been put on it while on the lot in those 2 months and that not being properly recorded at the time of purchase, making it appear we put more miles on it than we did and shorting the warranty.

The dealership is aware and has offered no help in this matter and I wanted to see others thoughts on the subject before I file with the BBB and end up in arbitration. Thank you
