Pregnancy Discrimination In The Workplace.

Card image cap

I (26f) am 35 weeks pregnant. Since I disclosed to my company that I’m pregnant I have been silently demoted from key-holder, given 2 extremely negative employee reviews that have resulted in zero merit raises each time (I was getting exceeds expectations and fantastic raises before this). In recent months I’ve had swelling and have needed to sit down for a moment but have been met each time with “I don’t pay you to sit” “if I let you do this then I have to let everyone else do it too”. But it’s all been verbal correction and never on paper. I was told that I’m required to have a doctors note to be able to sit occasionally but recently found that my state has a law for pregnancy in the workplace that says I can have this accommodation without a note or medical documentation.

How can I go about asking for them to provide in writing that I cannot take occasional sit downs at work without them knowing I’m building a paper trail for myself?
