Should I File A Police Report For Someone Threatening Their Kid With The Presence Of A Weapon?

Location: Southern California

My daughter (16) and her friend (17) went to show where their friends band was playing (all high schoolers). We had been under the impression that her friend had told her parents. Well I guess her parents forgot according to the friend and her dad is way more crazy than I ever realized. Her dad had her brother come to our house looking for her so we told him where she was. We texted her parents (an apparently HUGE mistake) that we had thought she was allowed to go and apologized.

Her dad drove to the show and screamed at my daughters friend and then kept saying “I have a gun in the car” as an indirect threat. Luckily the friends older brother came and drove them home (we were on our way to pick them up), so she didn’t have to get in the car with him but I am super concerned and absolutely LIVID. My daughter says her friend is okay, I’ve been asking over and over. But I am concerned about her AND I’m pissed he apparently brought a gun around my kid (and other teenagers!!). I feel terrible that this happened and I wish I could change it.

Im afraid of making the daughters life worse but should I report this? She has gotten in a lot of trouble in the past and even had to go to court, so I feel like she wont be believed or it will just be brushed off only for her to get punished more At home. What can we do?
