Some Charges Listed Twice With Different Degrees
location: ohio
The only information I know is given below. I need a better understanding of why the same charge is listed twice, but with different degrees. The police report is also a little confusing.
I just found out my sons father was arrested 3 days ago. The jail roster does not have the statutes listed, but I found them online, so I'm hoping they're correct. He was charged with the following, I put the same charge degrees as shown on the roster:
Statute 2925.11: possession of drugs - marijuana (<100G) (F3)
Statute 2925.03 trafficking in drugs-prepare (F3)
Statute 2925.11 possession of drugs (F2)
Statute 2925.03 trafficking in drugs (F2)
Statute 2925.11 possession of drugs (F2)
Statute 2923.24 possessing criminal tools (F5)
Statute 2925.14 illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia (M4)
The police report is pretty vague and a bit confusing. Under offense information on the report it says "Offense: Possession Of Drugs - Marijuana (5-20kg)" but the the amount listed on the jail roster is <100g. It also doesn't list any specific substances other than Marijuana, but in the officers statement it says illegal narcotics were found throughout the vehicle. Is Marijuana usually referred to as illegal narcotics in police statements, or does this mean other substances were found?
What would be the minimum and maximum penalties or prison sentence if he's convicted? I appreciate any insight on what to expect. Thank you.
