Stolen Money
Hello! Was hoping to get advice for a situation that my sister is in. My sister (21 college student, location: California) had signed up to do the LA Hyrox competition with her friend A (will not disclose name just in case). She and A signed up to the duo competition (meaning they’d compete together), because the LA Hyrox is very popular, the day the tickets dropped my sister was first in queue, because of this she told A she’d buy the tickets and she’d just have to pay her back. Well it’s been a few months now and A has yet to pay her back. My sister has been messaging her and asking for the money. From this A has decided to block and ignore my sister, without having had paid any of the money back (about $400 dollars), and jeopardizing my sister’s ability to compete. Keep in mind she cannot compete with anyone else (as she was registered to compete with A and it cannot be changed), my family has already bought spectator tickets (around 100 bucks total), and lodging. We honestly don’t know what to do as of now, we don’t know if to proceed with the police or try to find another solution. Overall we just need help figuring out what to do next. Please help!
