Stolen Vehicle- Are They In The Right?

I own a mobile home in a trailer park in Alaska. I have an older, well sought after vehicle that currently isn't running, and my old landlord wanted it parked not directly in front of my house, but about 10 ft away tucked behind a tree. My landlord passed away and the trailer park was sold to a new owner. They use a property management team to run the park. They sent out a new lease in July of 2025 to everyone in the park, including a letter that said they don't want abandoned vehicles sitting around the park in an attempt to "clean" the place up. There are A LOT of abandoned vehicles. Well one night while I was at work, someone stole the truck. I filed a police report and even asked the property manager if she knew who took it. She said she had no idea. Fast forward to the next day, I called the PM and asked if she could at least ask some of the maintenance guys if they've seen anything. She called me back and admitted that her son took the truck. She said they assumed the vehicle was abandoned, and since it was not parked directly in front of my house (only 10 ft away), it was parked on their property, and they have every right to take it, since they sent one letter out 9 months ago. The police agreed that they had the right to take it. I never got a notice saying it was going to be towed, and it was not professionally towed off, it was put on a trailer and pulled by her son's vehicle. After telling her that the vehicle was not abandoned, and belongs and is titled to me, she wants me to give her $500 to have it back. Is this legal?? Its MY truck, and she's basically extorting me to get it back. What do I do? Should I pay the $500 and just move on? Should I take her to court? Is there a good chance I'd win? The police wont do anything about it, they said its a civil matter.
