Sue Hoa For Being Unreasonable And Refusing To Investigate Building Issue?
Location: Washington DC USA
Has anyone sued an HOA with success or is it more of a headache than it’s worth? One specific board member appears to control everything and make decisions basically without the other two member. He has an aversion to spend a penny on any issue that doesn’t fall under what he would like to do with the building. I have a legitimate issue and request he quickly writes off (and claims there is nothing to be done ) and states that there is just a building defect (with no evidence provided) ; I have had an AC technician suggest a fix. He is commingling common AC work with individual unit work but immediately shut me down when I asked for the AC tech to inspect something next month when they will already be up there (most likely because he believes I will ask for the HOA to spend money to attempt to fix something). I am considering suing because I have witnessed how controlling he has become after being the president for several years with no one else running and very controlling with building funds.
