There Is A Real Chance Foul Play Was Involved In My Mother’s Death. How Can I Get Her Phone Records?

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada. Please be considerate. I wouldn’t wish my situation on any enemy.

My mother was mentally ill and reportedly committed suicide by gunshot. This act was done in my “stepdads” car, with his gun.

The unnerving elements of the situation are as follows:

- The gun:
She had never held a gun before in her life, and her BAC was %.28. There is a gun safe that requires both a code and key. The gun was unlocked, in his glovebox. It is unclear how she was aware that it wasn’t in its usual place, or how she was able to use it.
- The truck:
The day after she passed, my stepdad cleaned the truck himself (and then proceeded to continue driving it).
- He lied about being Married
He’s on the death certificate as her husband, yet they weren’t married and there’s no commonwealth here. This prevented me from being able to request further investigation, and from accessing her phone records from the carrier.
- When asking him about their last conversation, he mentioned that they had a fight that was so awful, he deleted the messages off of his phone.
- He turned off her phone line and returned the phone within a month of her passing with no warning.
- I got her iPad and her password book from him. The specific passwords I needed to access her iCloud had been cut out with scissors.
- When I finally got into her iPad, their message thread was nowhere to be found. Seemingly, it had also been deleted.
- In her iCloud, there is one singular setting that has been changed from the default: iCloud Messages. This setting appears to have been on until 2 weeks before her passing.

Is there anything more I can do to access her phone records? Or to change the death certificate? I can’t afford to pay for it the normal way, but since the information in it is false, does that open up an avenue for its change?

I invite any and all suggestions regarding my situation, even if it’s not about what I specifically asked.

(Btw, he remarried in <6 months and has taken 100% of the assets. I am her only child and she was my only parent.)
