Was I The Victim Of (attempted) Insurance Fraud?

Location: Ohio

I was driving down the highway when a stopped state patrol car gets behind me and turns its lights on. We pull over, and the patrollady asks me if I threw a drink at, and then sideswiped another car. I hadn't, so I said no, and she told me someone witnessed it, ID'd me, my license plate, and my vehicle. I cooperated, and calmly mentioned that if I did that at any highway speed, my car would have significant damage. The patrol lady inspects my car, finds some miniscule, fine scratches on my fender. While thinking "bsffr, you're saying I scraped past someone at 80 mph, these scratches are finer than ones I'd get aggressively driving past a bush," I answered all questions asked of me (mostly relating to road rage, if I had an altercation with the vehicle, etc), and the person who claimed to witness the incident had out of state plates. I have never seen either of these people, so I don't think this is something personal. I was released when they were unable to physically describe my hair, though they did get my race right.

Near the end of the interaction, I began to suspect attempted insurance fraud. Was the vehicle with out of state plates a rental that can't be tied to the witness? Did the car that claimed it was sideswiped get damaged elsewhere and try to pin the repairs on me? I left when released, just relieved I didn't get arrested, but I was ruminating for the rest of the day.

I called the state patrol later in the day and tried to get more information, but the patrollady was by then off duty. I was told by the person who answered my call that THERE WAS NO DAMAGE ON THE CAR THAT I ALLEGEDLY SIDESWIPED. I don't know what to do, outside of investing in a dash camera, and I'm terrified this will happen again. I don't want to leave my house unless it's for necessities. If this was attempted insurance fraud, is there anything I can do to get this interaction on record so these two criminals don't do this to another unsuspecting rube?
