Worried About Fast Driving Program In California Due To High Speed Ticket - Any Advice? Location: Barstow, California/orange County, California
*Quick disclaimer: I am aware that I'm a fucking idiot for getting a ticket this fast. I'm lucky I didn't hurt myself or others around me and this gave me a fat reality check into how I drive.*
Early this past September I got a ticket about 2 miles west of the California/Nevada border on I-15 East. I was clocked on Lidar at 102 in a posted 70 by a CHP officer (this is VC22349 in California). I'm super lucky I did not get arrested. I have hired an attorney to hopefully get the charged reduced in court, but I'm unaware of what to expect regarding California's recent FAST program, that automatically refers high speed infractions to the DMV.
I can handle the ticket and attorney cost, and luckily I don't pay for my own insurance, but want to avoid a license suspension if at all possible. It would definitely be a big blow to me as I'm applying for internships and will definitely need to commute to/from work once I have my internships. With my major internships are crucial to my job placement post-grad and I don't want this stupid ticket to make things worse.
I've heard varying things about the program and am unsure what to expect. My main concern is that if I don't have the hearing until later this year (I have not received a letter from the DMV as of yet), if I do get a suspension it will affect me over this summer.
Any advice? I was told attorneys are not allowed to accompany me during my hearing. I'm planning on basically admitting fault and hoping for the best. Just unsure about scheduling and how these hearings normally play out. Should I call my DMV and schedule it myself? Should I wait for a letter in the mail? How do these hearings normally play out? Thanks in advance!

TLDR: Got a fat speeding ticket and am unsure how to proceed regarding California's FAST program.
Edit: Just some extra information - my record is clear as of right now. I last got a speeding ticket in February of 2023, so that has gone off of my record as far as I know. I'm pretty young (I turned 20 3 weeks after the ticket) so I doubt that will play in my favor.
