Would This Wording Work On A Contract?
Location: Monongalia county, West Virginia
I am planning to rent out my small utility trailer 5’x8’ on Facebook or wherever and obviously don’t want to have any issues if it gets in an accident or something happens while it’s out.
My thought was to make a simple contract, grab the renters name and drivers license number, and then have it say something along the lines of, the renter is accepting that the trailer is in safe working condition and assumes all liability in the event of damage to the trailer, people, or other property and that they’re also responsible in case it gets stolen.
Is this good enough to cover me? Is there a specific way I have to say this? Or should I be looking into getting insurance specifically for renting the trailer? It also would be potentially going into other states, PA and MD are both close.
The trailer’s probably only worth $1200 so I’m more worried about the renter hitting someone else’s car or something dumb happening.
