‘pet Grocer – Yum!,’ ‘baby Got Wag’ And More: Pet Indies Write Their Own Theme Songs
When we asked the PETS+ Brain Squad, “If your business had a theme song, what would it be? It can be an existing one or a song you’d write (at least the title for),” these members went straight to their own imaginations — and the results range from poignant to hilarious to deeply relatable. There’s even a song already written and recorded, thanks to the crew at Gangsta Dog (listen below).
We once had my young son dress in an inflatable dinosaur costume, and he stood at the side of the road (with an adult) with a hand-drawn sign that said “Pet Grocer – Yum!” We had a lot of people stop in just to get a photo with the dinosaur! After that, we always said our song is Pet Grocer – Yum! Jenn Newark, Pet Grocer, Alliston, ON
Heck, we have a song! Gary Hughes, Gangsta Dog, Norfolk, VA Editor’s note: It’s catchy!
We try to have some fun with our customers, sometimes we have a contest on who can WAG the best. So, Baby Got Wag. Jusak Yang Bernhard, Wag Heaven Pet Supplies and Dog Wash, Georgetown, TX
This Is All for Dogs? I Thought This Was a Kid’s Boutique. Roxane Cann, The Dapper Hound, Mount Airy, NC
Our theme song would be For Every Pet That Makes a Family. Garden State Pet Center has never been just about dogs and cats — we serve families with everything from birds and rabbits to reptiles and other exotic companions. The song would be upbeat, a little quirky and all about celebrating the fact that pets come in every shape, size, species and personality. No matter what kind of animal you call family, there’s a place for you here. Victor Santucci, Garden State Pet Center LLC, Audubon, NJ
