Momentum Carnivore Nutrition Launches Freeze-dried Rainbow Trout Head Chews

Retailers got a first look at this unique new product at SuperZoo this year.

Sourcing and Sustainability

Momentum sources its trout heads through its partner Fraction, a freeze-dry facility in Buhl, Idaho, working with Riverence, the largest trout producer in the United States. Riverence was founded by Emmy-winning writer and producer David E. Kelley to build a more sustainable approach to American fish farming, and its Idaho farms give Momentum a compelling, verifiable sourcing story to put behind the product.

Sustainably sourced from Idaho rainbow trout, these whole-prey chews are responsibly raised in free-flowing spring water in thoughtfully designed, land-based raceways along Idaho’s Snake River in the Magic Valley. The farms are ASC-certified under the strict requirements of the Aquaculture Stewardship Council’s Freshwater Trout Standard. By using the whole fish in a nose-to-tail, zero-waste approach, these chews help reduce reliance on wild ocean populations while offering a more controlled source, away from the microplastics, mercury, and other pollutants found in wild ocean environments.
