Pet Food Institute Issues Statement On U.s. Senate Farm Bill Draft
(PRESS RELEASE) “The Pet Food Institute (PFI) appreciates Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Boozman’s effort to advance Farm Bill legislation. The draft Senate bill includes key priorities for the U.S. pet food industry, including provisions to strengthen animal health protections, support safe ingredient sourcing, and bolster the global competitiveness of U.S. pet food producers, while supporting America’s farmers who are essential to the supply chain,” said Elise Fennig, president and CEO at PFI.
“PFI also welcomes increased funding for agricultural trade promotion programs, which will help expand export opportunities for U.S. pet food manufacturers. We look forward to the bill advancing through the Senate approval process.”
