Scoochie Pet Products Expands Sales Team With Addition Of Matthew Koliner

(PRESS RELEASE) HUNTINGTON, NEW YORK — Scoochie Pet Products announced the hiring of Matthew Koliner as the company’s newest Sales Representative, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing even greater in-house support as its business continues to grow.

The addition of Koliner is part of Scoochie Pet Products’ ongoing initiative to strengthen customer relationships and provide retailers with knowledgeable, responsive sales support backed by real-world pet industry experience.

For Koliner, joining Scoochie Pet Products represents a full-circle moment.

His passion for the pet industry began the day he was born. Raised in his family’s Long Island pet store, Pet Care Depot, Matthew spent his childhood surrounded by pets and customers. By the age of five, he was already helping customers, stocking shelves, and learning firsthand what independent pet retailers need to succeed. The pet industry runs deep in the Koliner family. His grandmother built a successful career as both a professional groomer and pet industry sales representative. His mother, Leslie, followed in her footsteps as a groomer, while his father, Rich Koliner, has spent more than three decades in the pet industry and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Sales at Multipet International. His brother also continues the family tradition as a member of the Multipet team.

Throughout his teenage years, Matthew expanded his experience by working as a kennel attendant, grooming bather, and volunteering with humane societies and animal shelters. Before attending college with aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, he completed a two-year internship at Scoochie Pet Products, where he gained valuable experience on the manufacturing and business side of the pet industry.

Following college, Matthew spent three years working as a veterinary assistant and technician, developing extensive knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and client education. While he enjoyed helping animals in a clinical setting, he realized his true passion was working directly with independent pet retailers—educating pet owners, recommending products he believes in, and helping stores grow their businesses.

“Returning to Scoochie feels like coming home,” said Koliner. “My internship showed me what a great company this is, and I always admired the culture, the people, and the innovative products. I’m excited to combine my veterinary experience with my lifelong passion for the pet industry to help independent retailers succeed and provide products that truly improve the lives of pets.”

Outside of work, Matthew’s passion for animals continues at home, where he cares for two Golden Retrievers, four cats, two turtles, a guinea pig, and a Pacman frog.
