Karoline Leavitt To Join Fox News As Contributor
Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor in November, the network announced on Monday.
Leavitt departed the White House in August on the heels of a leave of absence following the birth of her second child. The White House has yet to find her replacement at the podium.
“I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms,” Leavitt said in a statement.
Leavitt’s move is another instance of the revolving-door relationship between the Trump administration and the Rupert Murdoch-owned television network.
Last year, the president’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump rejoined the network to host her own show, “My View with Lara Trump.” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also was a longtime commentator and host at Fox News before he took up his role at the Pentagon. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy also previously co-hosted “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business.
"Karoline is one of the best and most effective communicators around. Everybody at the White House is thrilled she has this opportunity to speak to the FOX News audience about President Trump’s successful agenda and highlight all the hard work this Administration has done for the American people," White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement.
Leavitt had served as the White House press secretary since the start of President Donald Trump's second term. She previously served as an intern with the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence during Trump’s first administration. She joined the press team after college as assistant press secretary under then-press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
McEnany, the former press secretary, also works for the network as the co-host of the lunchtime show “Outnumbered” and hosts her own show on Saturdays.
“Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape. We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all FOX News Media platforms,” Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement.
