Welcome to Day 5 of Denver Broncos training camp.

After back-to-back intense practices with the pads on, the defense came away with the upper hand in both of those days. The offense has made some big plays of their own, but they have yet to establish a consistent output against one of the NFL’s best defenses. I hope to see that change a bit to help the offense find some measure of confidence and chemistry ahead of the first preseason game next week.

Scotty Payne will keep you updated from the live practice with posts below as I won’t be fully back in action until next week either.

Referees out for #Broncos’ camp practice today. Should be a good one. Sean Payton said yesterday it’ll go 2.5 hours. pic.twitter.com/D2XY3jbTn1

Nik Bonitto is not in pads or a helmet but is out here, walking onto the field just now. Good sign.

Nik Bonitto still walking around with a bit of limp at #Broncos camp here but watching with his jersey, no pads. Good sign for his status.

Pat Bryant with a fantastic catch in the end zone on Ja’Quan McMillian during 1on1s.

Ja’Quan pleaded with the refs that it was PI

Another 9 on 7 run drill. Sean Payton serious about getting run game going — even if defensive front has had its way in early reps.

On third rep of #Broncos 9-on-7 today, Bo Nix pitches to RJ Harvey

Eyioma Uwazurike just blew Harvey up in the backfield as soon as he touched the ball

Then Malcolm Roach stuffs a run next play and is barking

DL again dominating early

Jaylen Waddle walked into the Broncos building during practice.

Had his helmet and no trainers.

QB Sam Ehlinger getting some love again today.

My sense from camp — no kind of trade/roster move impending for #Broncos WR Courtland Sutton, or any injury. Appears to be a pretty concerted effort to load-manage him https://t.co/jKjOONSalI

Troy Franklin with a 20-yard catch from Bo Nix on the first play of team. Riley Moss slipped when Troy came out of his break

— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevens) August 5, 2026

Back to back big plays for Bo Nix to start team.

First is 20 yards to Troy Franklin.

Second is 30 yard catch by Pat Bryant.
