Reinforcements continue to come on the way for the San Francisco 49ers.

A day after wide receiver Deebo Samuel was seen working out at the team’s practice facility in Santa Clara, the 49ers saw Nick Bosa back in action as a limited participant during Wednesday’s practice.

Bosa has been out since September 24. after he pulled his calf muscle during a team practice.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Nick Wagoner, Bosa isn’t concerned about reaggravating his injury, as he said he feels “great” and is “ready to go.”

Bosa, 29, has appeared in only two games for San Francisco and has seven tackles etched to his name.

The 49ers are coming off a bye week after suffering their first loss of the season in Week 7 to the Atlanta Falcons, where the San Francisco defense gave up 29 points, while the offense put up 20.

Bosa told David Lombardi of the SF Standard that “It’s been tough,” not being with his teammates the past six weeks.

“The team obviously had my back and held it down. We’re getting some guys back this week so it’s a long year and I kind of reminded myself that I need to be ready for the long haul and I think I’ll be just that,” Bosa said.

As Bosa is nearing a potential return this week, it also comes at the same time that his former 2019 teammate, DeForest Buckner, is set to return to the 49ers defensive line — a week after San Fransico traded for him from the Indianapolis Colts.

Buckner was in his fourth year in the NFL and lined up alongside Bosa during his rookie year in 2019.

The two combined for 16.5 sacks that year and went on to play in Super Bowl 54, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bosa was asked about the team trading for Buckner and said he was “very happy.”

“I mentioned it to Kyle [Shanahan] a couple months ago, jokingly, but the fact that it actually happened, it’s a full-circle moment for sure.” Bosa said.

The former Defensive Player of the Year missed most of last season due to a torn ACL he suffered during their third game of the season.

Bosa coming back to the football field will come at the same time the 49ers welcome a former Bay Area rival, the Las Vegas Raiders, who are off to a surprising 4-4 start to the season and are coming off a 38-33 road victory against the New York Jets.

Aside from Bosa coming back, Wagoneer reported that Shanahan gave some good news aboutMike Evans who’s exited Week 6 early with an Achilles injury.

“I think we’ve made a lot of progress. I think he’s going in the right direction and it’s something we definitely got to be smart with, but we’re not going to overly do it,” Shanahan said. “We just want to wait till he’s healthy and he’s still working his way to get there.”

Wagoner also reported that Christian McCaffrey was surprised when he injured his hamstring during the Atlanta game, but noted he could also return to the field this week.

“It wasn’t too bad,” McCaffrey said. “I think having the bye week was awesome, but I feel great.”
