While the 49ers enjoyed a day off Tuesday, reinforcements could be on the way to the team’s wide receiver room as they prepare to take on the Raiders on Sunday.

Deebo Samuel posted a video of himself working out at the 49ers’ practice facility in Santa Clara, suggesting there’s a chance he could be back this week.

Samuel, 30, has been sidelined since he injured his hamstring in the team’s Week 5 game against the Seahawks.

The 49ers’ Swiss Army knife, hybrid running back and receiver, was in the midst of a renaissance year before suffering his injury, having 16 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran the ball nine times for 78 yards.

Samuel’s potential return comes while the 49ers’ receiver room could potentially miss Mike Evans for the second consecutive week due to an Achilles injury.

The 49ers are also without rookie De’Zhaun Stribling, who’s been injured since their season opener against the Rams, as well as Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk.

Samuel spent the first six years of his career with San Francisco, where he was a 1,405-yard receiver in 2021.

After the 49ers finished the 2024 season at 6-11, San Francisco traded him to the Commanders, where he had 727 yards and five touchdowns.

If Samuel returns this week, a decision will likely be made later this week.

The 49ers and Raiders are set to kick off at 1:25 p.m. Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
