49ers Owner Jed York Reportedly Arrested In Ohio

San Francisco 49ers owner John "Jed" York was arrested by the East Palestine Police Department in Ohio over the weekend and pleaded no contest to two charges, per KRON4 News in San Francisco.

York was initially charged with suspicion of engaging in prostitution, but Ohio amended that to a disorderly conduct charge. York was also charged with possessing criminal tools. York pleaded no contest to both charges Monday. A person who pleads "no contest" does not admit guilt, but does accept the punishment for the alleged crimes as if they had been proven guilty.

In York's case, he was sentenced to one day in jail for each count. York was also ordered to pay two fines — $150 for disorderly conduct and $1,000 for possessing criminal tools — per KRON4 News.

The NFL issued a brief statement Monday confirming it was aware of the situation. It read:

"We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy."

The 49ers also issued a response, saying the issue was resolved and the team would not comment further.
