The Indianapolis Colts announced they have re-signed wide receiver Alec Pierce. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a four-year, $116 million deal.

The contract reportedly contains $84 million in guarantees with $60 million fully guaranteed at signing, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Coming off a breakout season in 2025, Pierce was considered among the top available free-agent wide receivers in this year’s class. Now, he secures a long-term deal to remain in Indy — answering at least one of the lingering questions about the Colts offense leading up to free agency.
Among the teams interested in Pierce were the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers, the Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported, noting that the pending free agent “turned down more money elsewhere to stay in Indy.”
The news of Pierce’s extension comes after the team placed the transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones last week. The tag will allow Jones to play on a fully guaranteed one-year, $37.833 million contract in 2026 while allowing him to negotiate with other NFL teams. If he signs an offer sheet with another team, the Colts will have the opportunity to match the offer. Each NFL team is only able to place the franchise or transition tag on one pending free agent.
Pierce led the Colts with 1,0003 receiving yards in 2025, a career high, while leading the NFL in yards per reception in each of the past two seasons. After failing to top 600 receiving yards and two touchdowns in either of his first two seasons, he took a massive third-year leap in 2024. He’s totaled a combined 1,827 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
Pierce, 25, was originally selected by the Colts as a second-round pick out of Cincinnati in the 2022 NFL Draft class. At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, Pierce offers plenty of size and upside as a deep threat that has become pivotal to his game at the next level. Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Pierce tied for the fifth-most deep receptions (9) while ranking second in deep receiving touchdowns (4) in the 2025 season.
