Brock Bowers To Miss Week One Against Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins open the 2026 regular season on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. However, on Wednesday, the South Florida squad got some news that may increase their chances of starting the season out with a win.
This afternoon, Adam Schefter of ESPN announced that Raiders star tight end, Brock Bowers, will miss “a game or two” following a meniscus surgery he underwent on Tuesday. With the Dolphins playing the Raiders this Sunday, the All-Pro tight end will miss that contest.
Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday in Dallas with Dr. Daniel Cooper and now is expected to miss “a game or two”, league sources told @rapsheet and me. It’s a fortuitous circumstance for Jeff Hafley’s squad — especially the defense. Bowers has 1,874 yards receiving thus far in his two-year NFL career — including a 13 catch, 126 yards and one touchdown performance against the Dolphins during Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season. With an unproven secondary taking the field for Miami on Sunday, not having to deal with Bowers should provide a sigh of relief.
The Raiders will turn to Michael Mayer in Bowers’ absence. Once a highly touted college tight end, the former second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has only mustered three touchdowns on 83 receptions during his three-year career.
We will continue to keep you updated on all things Miami Dolphins as the team inches ever closer to regular season action.
