Broncos Vs. Chiefs Score Predictions For Week 1 On Mnf

The Denver Broncos will open their season on the road on prime time with a Monday Nighty Football matchup against their heated rival in the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes has missed two of the last five games against Denver while the Broncos have run up the wins against Kansas City winning four of those including both where Mahomes didn’t play. Bo Nix has only lost once against the Chiefs with that game coming down to a blocked Wil Lutz field goal that would have won the game.

It is probably going to be a tough, hard fought game that could go either way. The kind of prime time game the NFL loves and I’m here for it!

Collectively, our Mile High Report staff is predicting a Broncos 30-17 road win on Monday Night Football over the Chiefs in Week 1. We all predicted wins, but here is where we each landed individually on the score:

Broncos 24, Chiefs 22

While I think the Broncos have the better roster and the Chiefs are in a transition period after a dominant run, they are still the Chiefs and its prime time at home with Patrick Mahomes fully healthy. Anything can – and probably will – happen. That said, I’m still a Broncos fan and I see this game coming down to a failed two-point conversion to end the game. Go Broncos! – Tim Lynch

Broncos 33, Chiefs 17

The Broncos kick the season off in style with an explosive offensive showing.  The addition of Waddle and the return of Dobbins bring tears to the eyes of Chiefs fans in attendance. The Broncos defense is still stout, but has trouble keeping Walker hemmed in early. – Sadaraine

Broncos 45, Chiefs 16

Bo Nix ruins Mahomes return by throwing 4 touchdowns. Waddle roasts the Chiefs DBs for two, Sutton does what he does for another and Pat Bryant let’s the world know he’s the real deal with another. Dobbins rushes for 100, Jonah gets his 1st career touchdown and the Broncos defense does what it does vs. Mahomes. 3 turnovers, 4 sacks, and the Broncos destroy the Chiefs on Monday Night. – Scotty Payne

Broncos 24, Chiefs 13

The big story is obviously going to be the return of Patrick Mahomes after his recovery from his knee injury. That will be the storyline, but the Broncos will be celebrating a return of their own. The big question will be about Bo Nix and his ankle. But that’s not the only concern for Denver. After a season of close calls and comebacks, the defending AFC West champs will get a “prove it” game right away. Winning in KC is never easy, but you better believe that Sean Payton will have his team ready to prove 2025 was no fluke. – Adam Malnati

This primetime matchup should wind up being one of the best of the Week 1 slate. I believe it’s going to be a close game just like we saw on both occasions last year. I’m hoping Bo Nix can air it out going up against a revamped secondary with three new starters. Additionally, I think the Broncos’ pass rush could be poised for a big game especially if Josh Simmons doesn’t play. That means they would have an UDFA starting at one of their tackle positions. With those things in mind, I’m giving Denver the slight edge and am picking them to start their season off with a big victory. – Chris Hart

Nix and the Broncos want to send a message. Not just to their rivals, but the rest of the NFL. What you saw last season was no anomaly, it was legit and they’re championship contenders. The defense will do what it does, get after Mahomes but also force a few turnovers. It’s Nix, new offensive play caller Davis Webb, and the offense who will steal the show on Monday Night Football. – Ian St. Clair
