Earlier today, the Chicago Bears activated rookie linebacker Keyshaun Elliott and safety Elijah Hicks off the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Elliott had been sidelined with a back issue, while Hicks was out waiting for his shin to heal.

The Bears still have three players on the PUP list: Nickelback Kyler Gordon, linebacker Noah Sewell, and defensive lineman Shemar Turner.

They also placed linebacker Nephi Sewell on injured reserve and signed linebacker Antonio Grier. Nephi Sewell was carted off during Saturday’s preseason game in Cincinnati.

The 26-year-old Grier (6’1”, 230) was originally a 2024 UDFA from Arkansas who signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played 7 games with them as a rookie, mostly on special teams. He was waived/injured before the 2025 season, and he spent time with the Louisville Kings of the United Football League in 2026.

The Bears close out the preseason on Saturday against the Tennessee Titans, and this year’s cut-down deadline is Sunday at 5:00 pm (CT).
