Chicago Bears Stat Tracker Week 8: A Soaring Win

Bears put up 34 points in one of the toughest places to play against the league’s best defense – let’s get into it:

Caleb Williams had a good line and when taking into account the competition, stadium, and the Monday Night Football stage, it was stellar – 24/34 for 247 yards, one touchdown pass, and no interceptions. He only took one sack for a ten yard loss. Of all the games on the schedule, this would be the one you’d fear the most for a statistical flop, but this was a steady performance.

It was interesting to update the TD:INT ratio chart this week as Jared Goff fell out of the top ten and Dak Prescott replaced him while Joe Burrow fell below Patrick Mahomes after his wild performance on Sunday. Caleb added a to his ratio with the one TD while Rodgers threw a pick (yay!) and closed the gap ever so slightly. Remember, Caleb is still a couple hundred attempts away from officially qualifying, but that will get here at some point this season.

The franchise single season scoring record is now starting to inch slightly closer after Caleb’s return to the lineup has yielded 95 over the last 3 games. The Bucs defense is playing good football and will be another good challenge for this offense. After the bye, the Bears square up against the Saints, Lions, Jags, and Dolphins in what could be a stretch to really stack some big point totals.

We’re not quite halfway through the season and Rome Odunze and Luther Burden have looked the part of an incredible one-two punch. Statistically, giving a slight correction weighting Caleb’s appearances, they both look like they’ve got a good chance at going over the 1,000 yard mark. Given the running game and other weapons on this offense, that would be a fun feat to see.
