Chiefs And Tackle Wanya Morris Exploring Trade Options, Per Report
As the Kansas City Chiefs make their way through this week’s mandatory minicamp, the right tackle is one of the few positions without a settled starter. Veteran Jaylon Moore and second-year pro Esa Pole are expected to compete to replace Jawaan Taylor, who the Chiefs released before the start of the league year.
One player who appears unlikely to factor into the decision is fourth-year pro Wanya Morris.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Morris and the Chiefs have agreed to mutually explore trade opportunities.

The Chiefs drafted Morris out of Oklahoma in the third round (No. 92 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. Kansas City has seemingly had a revolving door at left tackle during his career, and Morris has been in and out of the lineup as quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ blindside protector.
In three seasons with the Chiefs, Morris has appeared in 43 games with 16 starts.
Morris made his only start of 2025 in Week 12 against the Houston Texans. However, he suffered a season ending knee injury on the first offensive play. Morris has been seen working with his teammates during media looks at offseason practices, though he is still using a knee brace.
We will have any updates on Morris’ status covered.
