Chiefs-broncos Week 8 Final Injury Report: Rashee Rice Returning

Each practice day this season, the Kansas City Chiefs release an official injury report ahead of the next game. In Week 8, the Chiefs play the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.

Here is the Chiefs’ final official injury report of the week, courtesy of Matt McMullen, Chiefs Senior Reporter, on X:

Chiefs

• Cornerback Mansoor Delane (shoulder) was listed as questionable after suddenly missing practice Thursday and Friday. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed that it is the same shoulder he has dealt with injuries to since training camp and forced him to miss time in Weeks 1 and 2.
• Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) was listed as questionable after limited participation in practice for two days and missing on Wednesday with an NIR/personal designation. He is regularly listed as a limited participant due to a lingering knee issue.
• Defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (knee) was ruled out after three days of limited participation in practice; he was designated to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Wednesday. He will continue working in the 21-day practice window before the Chiefs must sign him to the active 53-man roster.
• Defensive end R Mason Thomas (personal) was listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday. On Friday, Andy Reid said Thomas will meet the Chiefs in Denver and will likely play.
• Wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee) did not have a game status listed after improving to full participation in practice on Friday; he hasn’t played since tweaking his hamstring in Week 4, but he should be making his return to the field in Denver.
• Tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) did not have a game status listed and practiced in full on Friday after being labeled a limited participant in practice on Thursday. He banged up his ankle in the Week 6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The following players were full participants in practice all week:

• Right tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion)
• Left tackle Kahlil Benson (ankle)
• Linebacker Nick Bolton (neck)
• Center Creed Humphrey (toe)
• Linebacker Drue Tranquill (elbow)
• Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (knee)

Broncos

Starting safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) was ruled out after missing practice all week; he hasn’t played since leaving the Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury. This season, he is tied for the team lead with two interceptions — one he returned for a touchdown — and has three passes defended, one forced fumble and three tackles for loss.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (chest) was listed as questionable after limited practice on Thursday and Friday; he suffered his injury in the Week 7 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Pro Bowl defensive lineman Zach Allen (hamstring) was listed as questionable after two limited practices to end the week following an absence from Wednesday’s practice. Allen has 4.5 sacks this year and hasn’t missed any time for this injury so far.

After having no designation on Wednesday, running back RJ Harvey (knee) was limited on Thursday, then didn’t practice on Friday and has been ruled out. He has 304 total yards and two touchdowns this season.

Starting safety Brandon Jones (hamstring) was listed as questionable after two limited practices to end the week; Jones intercepted Mahomes in Week 1 and has the second-most tackles on Denver’s defense this season.

Left tackle Garrett Bolles (hip) is questionable to play after limited participation in practice all week. Bolles hasn’t missed a snap for Denver so far this season, but he was not listed on the injury report last week.

All-Pro cornerback Patrick Sutain II (ankle) has not played since suffering the ankle injury in Week 4, but he has practiced in full all week and did not have a game status listed; he will play on Sunday.
