Rashee Rice is a free man once again.

The Dallas County Sheriff's Office confirmed to USA TODAY Sports that the Kansas City Chiefs wideout was released from jail on the morning of Tuesday, June 16, after serving 30 days there for violating his parole. In a social media post shared by FOX's Dallas-Forth Worth affiliate, Rice, 26, could be seen running out of Dallas County Jail. Rice did not comment as he departed before being whisked away in a black Range Rover.

Rice tested positive for THC last month, triggering his month-long incarceration. He pleaded guilty July 17, 2025, to two third-degree felony charges – collision involving serious bodily injury, and racing on a highway causing bodily injury – stemming from an incident on a Dallas-area highway on March 30, 2024. He was sentenced to a 30-day deferred prison sentence at the time and five years’ probation.

Was Rashee Rice suspended in 2025?

Yes, Rice was suspended for the first six games of the 2025 season under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

What did Andy Reid say about Rashee Rice?

The Chiefs head coach addressed the receiver's latest legal misstep last month after Rice entered prison.

"It's not an easy thing he's going through," Reid said May 28. "Life lessons are important, but we're all given chances to learn. So, he's in that position now."

The Chiefs' offseason program wrapped with the conclusion of last week's mandatory minicamp, which Rice obviously missed. His jail stay also kept away from several OTA sessions. He'd undergone a minor procedure on his knee shortly before starting his sentence.
